In making my work my hope is to create a space in which the viewer can enter and question. I would like these spaces to reference the real world but be foreign to what is seen in our everyday life. I am interested in the repetition and the accumulation of things that create complex spaces that are both chaotic and ordered almost simultaneously. I am intrigued by the way we see the world and wonder what is there that is not seen. I am fascinated by the inner workings of our environments and rather than illustrate them as they are actually seen, my interest lies in the discovery of finding them through the process of creating. I work in a process of discovery... making a mark, erasing, connecting one line to another, overlapping, seeing through, and editing out. Through these explorations I am trying to uncover something unknown to myself but resembling something from my memory. I am constantly in search of creating a space that is otherworldly or fantastical.
